Even the oldest inhabitants of Szczecin do not remember a visit of such important guests to our city. On 14 May 2014 Szczecin will host the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Denmark, His Royal Highness Frederik and his wife, Her Royal Highness Mary Elizabeth. The Crown Prince Couple will spend one day in Szczecin. It will be the first visit of Danish Prince Couple to Poland.
A visit to Szczecin will start from ceremonial breakfast in the Municipal Office, held at the special invitation of Piotr Krzystek, the Mayor of Szczecin. This meeting will be attended by representatives of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, the Ambassador of Poland to Denmark, the Ambassador of Denmark to Poland, government and province self-government authorities, along with the delegation accompanying Danish Prince Couple.
The purpose of the three-day May visit of the Crown Prince Couple to our country is to revive and deepen rapidly expanding economic cooperation between Poland and Denmark and promote innovative Danish solutions applied in selected areas of economy. Hence, the agenda of the visit includes Crown Prince Frederik's participation in seminars devoted to wind energy and waste management, which will be held in the Centre for Contemporary Art in Szczecin (Trafostacja) and the visit of Crown Princess Mary to Polish KK Electronic branch.
The Crown Prince Couple will also visit Danish soldiers from the Multinational Corps Northeast and will meet with the crew of the Royal Danish Navy vessel, which on the date of the visit will reach the wharf at the foot of the Embankments of Chrobry. Furthermore, Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth will visit patients of the Division of Paediatrics, Paediatric Haematology and Oncology of Public Clinical Hospital at ul. Unii Lubelskiej.
